Sir,
Directed by His Excellency the Governor to observe upon the suggestions sent in, relative to the late office "Department of the 16th instant", that you do not state what further assistance you require to make the Establishment efficient; and to instruct you to state precisely the number of persons at present employed, - their salaries, the number you propose to add, and what service you require them for.
You are to send in this return to-morrow morning that it may be laid before His Excellency in Council:
